On July 14, Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC concluded its annual fun filled, but intense four-day Basketball Camp, held at Miller Freedom Center.  All participants left the high energy camp with increased fitness, fun memories, and having played their hardest.  Many left with trophies; all left with skills.

Forty youngsters participated in the camp:  twenty in the morning sessions for ages 8-10, and twenty in the afternoon sessions for ages 11-13+.  The camp concluded with tournaments on the final day.  Coach Akii Dean was the Lead Instructor and was a huge hit with participants. Bill Gower, BGC Past-President, assisted Coach Dean.

Coach Dean founded Process Basketball Training after hip surgery ended his playing career.  He teaches a philosophy and a developmental process that helps any player he works with.  Coach Dean has worked with NBA players, Olympic Gold Medalists, Division 1 athletes along with players just starting to learn the fundamentals of the game who want to develop that slight edge.  His purposeful, detail oriented approach and game based workouts push his players to new levels and teach them about life.
